현승의와 김아름의 《Romance 로망》은 실현하고 싶은 소망이나 이상을 의미하는 프랑스어 ’로망‘의 의미를 바탕으로 합니다. 전시는 두 작가가 오랫동안 탐구해온 ’관광지‘와 ’사랑‘이라는 테마를 중심으로, 우리의 한정된 시선으로 이상화되거나 낭만화된 어떤 상(image)들의 다층적인 모습을 살펴봅니다. 그러면서 우리가 가지고 있는 낭만적 상상과 현실의 복잡성을 생각해 보며, 진정한 행복과 사랑을 발견하려는 여정을 제안합니다.
《Romance 로망》, a collaborative exhibition by Seung Eui Hyun and Areum Kim, draws inspiration from the French word ”romance,“ which signifies a longing for ideals or aspirations. Centered on the themes of ”tourist destinations“ and ”love,“ which both artists have deeply explored over the years, the exhibition examines the multifaceted nature of images romanticized or idealized by our limited perspectives. The show invites viewers to reflect on the complexity of reality versus romantic imagination and embark on a journey to discover genuine happiness and love.
