Han Young Wook

In hectic daily lives with fast flood of information, we are pressed for time not having chance to see what it really is. This exhibition shows works of HAN YoungWook, a representative artist in Korean Hyperrealism, providing chance for people to take time to face their own genuine emotions.

The artist makes audiences to think about what ‘really’ is by pushing the boundaries between reality and imagination with hyperrealistic description. Audiences attracted by these unique technique and life like images will face genuine selves by gazing eyes of the models in the paintings trying to say something, taking a break from daily routines.

바쁜 일상 속 빠르게 지나가는 정보들 사이로 현대인들은 사물의, 혹은 사건의 본질을 파악하지 못한 채, 겉모습만 훑으며 시간에 쫓겨가고 있다. 본 전시는 한국 하이퍼리얼리즘 대표주자인 한영욱 작가의 작품을 통해서 바쁜 걸음을 잠깐 멈추고 각자 내면의 감정들을 고민할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 것이다.

작가는 극사실적 표현을 통해 현실과 가상의 경계를 무너뜨림으로써 관객들에게 ‘실재’에 대해 고민하게 한다.

독특한 표현방식과 사실적 묘사에 이끌려 걸음을 멈춘 관객들은 말을 건네는 듯한 작품 속 인물의 눈빛을 바라보며, 잠깐이나마 일상에서 벗어나 진실한 자신과 마주하는 경험을 할 수 있을 것이다.
